Map8 visually represents the responses of almost 500 people who answered the question: ‘Why did you go down to the river?’ These responses were gathered during an event held in Santiago, Chile, in which citizens were invited to go across the river bed as a way of validating the
feasibility of making it a public space for the city.
It is designed as a printed poster that allows at least two layers of reading. The first layer lets the viewer understand the number of answers that correspond to each type of response (represented by group and color), while in a second layer it is possible to read the original participants’ responses.
