UC Contribution to the 2030 Agenda
2020
This is a data visualization platform designed to highlight the research carried out at the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC) that contributes to sustainable development. To this end, the UC Institute for Sustainable Development conducted a diagnostic to assess the current state of this contribution. As a framework, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda were used, and indexed scientific publications in ISI journals were categorized according to their relevance to each goal and its respective targets.
The platform allows users to explore publications that contribute to one or more SDGs and their targets, while also identifying the authors and their respective faculties. Its main objective is to serve as a starting point for fostering connections among researchers—both students and faculty—with shared interests, and to promote the creation of interdisciplinary research networks focused on sustainability.
This project was a collaboration between the UC Institute for Sustainable Development (Ignacio Oliva and Francisco Urquiza), the UC School of Design (Manuela Garretón and Francisca Balbontín), and the UC Department of Computer Science (Professor Denis Parra, Daniela Flores, and Hernán Valdivieso).
